Razor-X Remastered is coming to Steam in 2027
We're officially announcing Razor-X Remastered. What started as Crimson R Games' first branded title back in 2017 is coming back as a full fledged PC game in 2027, 10 years after the original release in Android.
The new version will come with a wide variety of changes and new modes to play. Below we will be briefing some of the biggest changes in the game.
Controller support
Razor-X originally was a game for mobile phones, as such the touch controls were the only way to play the game and we focused on making it as smooth as possible. Now with Remastered we're aiming on bringing this to Desktop versions of the game, as such, we have controller support. We're working on making the controls smooth so players can enjoy the game on their Steam Deck or playing on their PCs with a controller plugged in as well.
We're keeping a similar touch/mouse way to control the game as well for those that feel more comfort on precise ship movements.
New difficulty modes
The original Razor-X only had a single difficulty option enabled, the 'default' one, for a lack of a better word. With Remastered you can enjoy multiple difficulties aimed to allow more casual players enjoy the game while they understand it's mechanics and improve their skills piloting the Razor-X. For more advanced players we have also added more challenging difficulties which will prove to be a good challenge, which will allow them to really test their skills.
Steam leaderboards and Steam achievements support
Since this release will be focused on Steam we will be adding support for these, so players can compete against their friends to see who has the best score across the multiple difficulties, while also be able to showcase their piloting skills through the multiple achievements they can show off from the game.
Will feature new soundtracks
The original game featured a handful of original compositions, but with Remastered we will be adding more original tracks to accompany the existing ones.
Updated story + new characters
Razor-X featured a self insert silent protagonist that we weren't told much about, however, on Remastered we will meet new characters which will be the main protagonists of our story.
New modes will be added
Razor-X Remastered will be having some extra modes to play compared to the original, we will keep the details a secret for now as the game is still in development, but please look forward to that.
